What are the methods to identify the quality of silk quilt?
1. Appearance: The appearance of high-quality silk has a pearl-like color. It has the performance of diffuse refraction to light. It is clean and has few impurities, and the silk road is orderly and tidy. The poor-quality silk has a pale white appearance due to the addition of chemicals such as bleach. There is no luster and moisturizing feeling, and there are many impurities and the silk road is chaotic.
2. Touch: The high-quality silk feels smooth, creamy and elastic, without hard clumps. The inferior silk is rough to the touch, non-flexible, and non-moisturizing. There are relatively more cocoon stems, cocoon blocks, raw cocoons, and pupae. Silk with an oily or musty smell is inferior.
3. Burning: When the silk burns, it immediately turns into ash, and the burning speed is very fast. After burning, it is loose gray with a burning smell of hair. After the kapok is burned, the ashes can be crushed.
4. Fiber strength: the better the silk strength, the better the quality. The silkworm thread of the same length, after stretching, the longer the quality, the better. Generally good mulberry silk can be drawn to more than 100 cm.
5. Use a disinfectant to perform a dissolution test. If it is real silk, put it in the disinfectant, the silk will gradually dissolve after three to five minutes.
Fiber fineness: Mulberry silk is several times thinner than hair. Tussah silk is about the same thickness as hair. In fact, tussah silk is not as thick as hair, it is still much thinner than hair.
