What is the main structure of the pillow?
Pillows are generally composed of two parts: pillow core and pillowcase. The pillow core needs to be filled with materials to keep the pillow at a certain height during use. At present, there are many kinds of filling materials on the pillow market. Among them are Chinese medicinal materials such as cassia, wild chrysanthemum, and silkworm sand. There are cereals such as buckwheat hulls, bran, and cotton. There are also rushes, cattail, waste tea, etc. as materials for filling. In addition, materials processed by modern technology, such as porous vacuum cotton, slow rebound sponge, etc., are filling materials with a high penetration rate in the market.
Chinese medicinal materials have been regarded as the best pillow filling material since ancient times. It can play a role in health care and even treatment of diseases. Grains and other plant materials have always been considered traditional filling materials. Mainly because they are quite rich in amino acids. It can be partially absorbed by the human body through skin friction and breathing during people’s sleep.
There are three basic styles of pillowcases: ordinary one-piece bag type, Oxford type (equipped with flat edges) and embellished edge type. All three types of pillowcases have an inner seal to fix the pillow, so there is no need to implement some reinforcement measures on both sides. Cotton, cotton, polyester and man-made fibers can be used to sew pillowcases, but the most comfortable pillowcase material is pure cotton fabric, which has good air permeability and moisture absorption, and does not irritate the skin.
