What is the status of bed linen in China?
As one of the three final product areas of the textile industry, home textiles have developed by leaps and bounds since 2000, with an average annual growth rate of more than 20%. In 2002, the output value of the Chinese textile industry was about 300 billion yuan, which rose to 3630 in 2003. In 2004, the data was as high as 435.6 billion yuan. According to the data released by the China Home Textile Industry Association, in 2006, the output value of my country’s home textile industry was about 654 billion yuan, an increase of 20% compared with 2005.
In 2005, the output value of China’s home textile industry reached 545 billion yuan, an increase of 21% over 2004. From the perspective of resource consumption, the output value of the home textile industry only accounts for 23% of the country’s total textile output value, but the country’s home textile fiber consumption accounts for 1/3 of the entire textile industry and 1/9 of the world’s fiber consumption. There is more. In 2005, the output value of home textiles in the famous home textile towns exceeded 10 billion yuan, and the output value of Haining, a famous home textile town in Zhejiang, exceeded 15 billion yuan.
The five provinces and cities where the home textile industry cluster is located, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, are the top five home textile products exports. The export volume of the five provinces and cities accounted for 80.04% of the country’s total home textile exports. The industry has developed particularly rapidly. The total export volume of home textile products reached 3.809 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 26.86% of the country’s total export volume of textile products.
